Making prank calls is a coping mechanism for bored kids

Saturday mornings, I always disappoint my kids because I do not allow them to go outside because of the cold. At first they resisted but after a few Saturdays, they eased in to the routine. I did not know that the coping mechanism that they had adapted was pretty disturbing and it really annoyed many neighbors. What they would do is that they would pick a number from the directory that just happened to be around the street where we were living. They would make numerous prank calls and agitate very many people in the process. The people who had to go through all these because I would not let my kids play outside, hired various companies of reverse phone numbers uk. They did this so that they can know who makes the calls, and were that person lives. Guess what, their search ended at my door stop and they were not amused at all. My kids acted sheepish and they apologized for making the prank calls. I apologized profusely for what my kids put them through too.
